Christmas Card Poll!

October 30th, 2005 (01:41 am)
cheerful

feeling: cheerful

It's that time of year again-- Christmas card time! I had so much fun sending out cards last year, so I hope many of you will take me up on my offer. (All right, so I really had fun playing with my database. Ahem.)

The results of this poll will only be viewed by me, and you have my word that I won't share your personal information with anyone. If you're still not convinced, I'd be happy to swap you my address in return so you can hold me hostage if I break my promise *grin*.

Even if you think I might have your address, or you filled the poll out last year, please fill it out again so I know you'd like a card. Also, if you've made a post of your own for Christmas cards and I might not have seen it, comment below! I try to keep up with all of your journals, but sometimes I miss things. Sorry. :)

ETA: If you don't celebrate Christmas and would like a winter greeting card instead, I'd be happy to oblige if you'll leave a note under 'Anything else?' :)

I'll be sending these out after American Thanksgiving, November 25.

Friends Only

November 22nd, 2002 (02:32 am)

I've made all the entries in this journal friends only from now on. It's quite an easy list to be on-- just add me as a friend or comment here asking to be added, and I will. Amazingly simple, eh?

approach with care and chocolates

ETA May 2007: New friends are still welcome, although be forewarned that this is for the most part a very inactive journal. If I don't respond to your comment promptly, it is only because I do not check this journal very often (but I do still read my friends journals when there is time!). Updates are few and far between, but if you are still interested in my infrequent ramblings you are welcome to pull up a chair! :)

These days I work with wildlife, and have more baby animal stories to post than Harry Potter critiques. As for my personal life... well. Ask and you may recieve. ;)

The Orange
by Wendy Cope

At lunchtime I bought a huge orange
The size of it made us all laugh.
I peeled it and shared it with Robert and Dave—
They got quarters and I had a half.

And that orange it made me so happy,
As ordinary things often do
Just lately. The shopping. A walk in the park
This is peace and contentment. It's new.

The rest of the day was quite easy.
I did all my jobs on my list
And enjoyed them and had some time over.
I love you. I'm glad I exist.
